Interested in publishing your content on the Startup Boston blog?

Pitch the Startup Boston blog with topics near and dear to your heart in the community. This can be tactical startup strategies and advice, reflections on the current state and future hopes of the industry, pieces on trends in the startup scene - whatever is important to you.

We're excited to hear what is on your mind: challenging, exciting, or even frustrating. Reach out to startupbos@gmail.com if you have any questions!

Ready to share your knowledge?

If your pitch is a good fit, someone from our all-volunteer team will reach out!

Please keep in mind that this is an unpaid opportunity to reach the startup community in Boston and beyond. If accepted, your piece will be published under your byline on the Startup Boston blog.

Tips for crafting a great pitch:

  • Think carefully about your topic. Be clear, don't go too broad, and see if you can summarize it in a sentence.

  • Think about your audience, for which people might this be a good read? (i.e. people ops leaders, founders, marketing leaders, et al.)

  • What's your experience? Why are you the most qualified to write this?

  • Will you need to source this piece? Quote someone?

The type of content we publish:

  • Word count should fall between 800 - 1200 words, depending on the format

  • Original blog posts, with compelling insights and high-quality writing. We will not republish anything that's been published on another website.

  • Blogs can be interviews with a prominent member of the startup community, an opinion piece, listicles, how-to guides, or insightful blogs about industry and startup trends

  • You need proper attribution - this includes statistics mentioned and quotes referenced.

  • Sources shouldn't be more than three years old

  • Content must be written in American English

What we don't accept:

  • Promotional blog posts

  • Offensive pieces of content (we're a big startup family!)

  • Poorly written content (center your audience when you write)

Some additional tidbits of information to keep in mind:

  • You are not allowed to republish your blog post to LinkedIn, Medium, or any other site elsewhere. We also do not accept previously placed pieces. If this occurs, you'll be unable to guest blog on Startup Boston in the future.

  • Startup Boston reserves the write to include calls-to-action to Startup Boston content, which includes upcoming events, newsletter sign-up, and other Startup Boston related initiatives.
