We are currently looking for individuals who have a great personality, fun, energetic, and love to connect with people. 

About the Startup Boston Yearly Team:

Startup Boston is an all-volunteer yearly team. We organize monthly events and are currently working on and brainstorming other initiatives to strengthen the startup community. The people on this team also work closely with the Startup Boston Week team, so that all efforts are aligned across the board.

Joining the team is a 12-month commitment (typically starting in January and ending in December). 

These are the positions we're currently recruiting for on our all-volunteer organization team: 

  • Event Organizers

  • Sponsorship Leads

  • Social Media Managers 

  • Content Writers

About the Startup Boston Week 2021 Organizing Team:

SBW2020 will be held in late September 2021, however, joining the organizing team does involve a 10-month commitment. We begin planning in January 2021 and also spend the month of October 2021 wrapping-up the conference. 

These are the positions we're currently recruiting for on our all-volunteer organization team:

JOB DESCRIPTIONS: Join the Startup Boston Yearly Team

 
Event Organizer
  • Create a list of proposed event ideas for monthly events and initiatives 

  • Work closely with the marketing team to create event collateral 

  • Identify and secure speakers and moderators for your events

  • Manage all organizational aspects for your events - including prepping moderators, speakers, sending speaker marketing materials, and setting up intro calls when necessary

  • Secure speaker feedback post-event

Sponsorship Lead​
  • Identify sponsorship opportunities for Startup Boston

  • Coordinate with the Sponsorship Lead of Startup Boston Week 

Social Media Manager
  • Responsible for scheduling social media messages across all Startup Boston platforms

  • Oversee social media channels to monitor engagement and respond to community questions and feedback (i.e. "social listening"); respond via DM or retweet/share as appropriate 

  • Coordinate and work with cross-functional teams (namely PR and content teams) to ensure message consistency for both Startup Boston Week and Startup Boston's monthly events 

  • Represent Startup Boston brand with enthusiasm, professionalism, and accuracy 

  • Create social media messages for speakers, marketing partners, internal team, and sponsors 

Content Writer
  • Work closely with the programming team to craft event descriptions

  • Responsible for creating blog content for Startup Boston - this includes pitching blog ideas and interviewing subject matter experts in the startup community (we can provide you with intros)

  • Create website content for both the Startup Boston and Startup Boston Week websites

  • Write marketing kits and email templates for the marketing outreach team 

  • Work closely with the Head of Marketing to craft content for our email list (over 10k subscribers) for both Startup Boston week and other monthly initiatives that Startup Boston organizes year-round

Sponsorship Lead​
  • Work closely with our Head of Operations and Lead Organizer to finalize the sponsorship deck for 2021

  • Identify and reach out to potential sponsors for Startup Boston Week 

Operation Coordinator
  • Secure venues and/or software for virtual events

  • Coordinate the schedule of events with the programming team and venues (or virtual software)

  • Order T-shirts, signage, catering, etc. for conference (please keep in mind, we are on a bootstrapped budget for this event)

  • Put schedule on the website

  • Create media kits for speakers

  • Update website with confirmed speakers, new events, and other conference announcements

  • Work closely with the Sponsorship Lead to deliver on confirmed sponsor deliverables

  • Find and train volunteers for week-of Startup Boston Week 

Programming Lead
  • Create a list of proposed event ideas for your assigned track (to-be-determined, based on your background and interest)

  • Work closely with the marketing team to create event descriptions for your track's events 

  • Identify and secure speakers and moderators for your events

  • Manage all organizational aspects for your events - including prepping moderators, speakers, sending speaker marketing materials, and setting up intro calls when necessary

  • Secure speaker feedback post-conference
