Startup Boston Week is almost here and we want to make sure you’re ready to get the most out of it. Two tools will make your week a whole lot smoother: the Sched app (for your schedule + event info) and the Attendee Directory (for connecting with fellow startup folks).
Here’s the quick rundown:
1. Download the Event App
The Sched app is your pocket guide to SBW2025, providing you with quick access to your schedule and event details.
Download:
Set up your app:
Open the app and search for Startup Boston Week.
Click into the event.
Tap My Account (bottom right).
Sign in using the email you registered with.
Build your schedule:
Click into sessions to add them to your personal agenda.
Use the filter icon in the search bar to find sessions by topic.
Make sure these settings are on (in “My Account”):
Email Notifications
Event Announcements
Enable QR Code
“Public Profile & Schedule” being turned on does NOT add you to the Attendee Directory, as this is not hosted natively on Sched for our event, keep reading to see how to access the Attendee Directory and Networking Apps for SBW2025
Need a walkthrough? Watch this quick video:
Pro tip: Download and set up the app before the conference so your schedule is ready in your pocket.
2. Navigate the Attendee Directory
Now let’s talk networking. The Attendee Directory is where you’ll find (and be found by) other folks in the SBW community. You can access it through the Sched app or on desktop.
Step 1: Join the SBW2025 Slack Workspace
After registering, your confirmation page will include a link to join the Slack Workspace. Click that to join.
Inside Slack, head to the #announcements channel — the Attendee Directory link is pinned there.
👉 Missed the Slack invite? No worries. We’ll also email all confirmed attendees with the Slack link.
Just note: adding people is a manual process. We’ll update daily leading up to SBW2025, and multiple times a day during the week itself.
Step 2: Update Your Profile in the Attendee Directory
Once you’re inside the directory:
Search for your profile using Ctrl+F (desktop) or the Filter (top left).
Click Edit Profile when you find yourself.
Claim it using the same email you registered with (look for confirmation emails from sched.com if you’re unsure).
Trouble finding it? Shoot us a note at hello (at) startupbos (dot) org and we’ll get you sorted

3. Requesting Introductions via Attendee Directory
See someone you’d love to meet? Here’s how to make it happen:
Click Request Intro on their profile.
Enter a short note explaining why you’d like to connect. Be specific—this helps the other person decide if it’s a good fit.
Submit your request.
What happens next:
The Startup Boston Week team reviews requests (to filter out spam).
If approved, your request is sent to the other attendee.
If they opt in, you’ll be connected via email.
Watch the video embedded above for a visual walk-through!
⚡ We do this as a double opt-in to respect everyone’s time. The goal is for you to meet people who are actually aligned with what you’re looking for right now.
Pro tip: don’t wait! Send out a few intro requests before the conference to line up coffee chats and make the most of the week.
4. Join the Attendee Slack Workspace
Beyond 1:1 intros, we’ve got a dedicated Slack workspace for all attendees (you’ll find the link in the FAQ too).
Use Slack to:
Introduce yourself.
Browse other attendees’ intros.
Set up coffee chats or group meetups during the week.
👉 Think of Slack as your open networking hub, and the Directory as your more curated, 1:1 connection tool. Both together = maximum SBW value.
A Quick Heads Up
We’ll be adding folks to both the Directory and Slack workspace on a rolling basis. It’s not instant, but usually within a few hours of your registration. Thanks for bearing with us 🙏
✨ Pro tip: say hi to a few people before SBW kicks off - you’ll thank yourself later when you already have meetups on your calendar.
