Helping Founders Navigate Boston's Accelerator & Incubator Ecosystem

On June 8, Startup Boston and City of Boston brought together some of Greater Boston's leading accelerators, incubators, founder education programs, and innovation hubs for an evening designed to answer one simple question:

Where should founders go next?

For early-stage entrepreneurs, navigating the startup ecosystem can feel overwhelming. Between accelerators, incubators, venture programs, founder communities, mentorship organizations, and industry-specific resources, it's often difficult to know which opportunities are the right fit and when.

That's exactly why we hosted Meet Greater Boston's Accelerators & Incubators at Foley & Lardner's offices in the Prudential Center.

The event brought together founders from across industries and stages to meet directly with the organizations helping startups launch, grow, fundraise, and scale throughout Massachusetts and beyond.

Meet the Organizations Helping Founders Build and Scale

One of the most valuable parts of the evening was the opportunity for founders to speak directly with the organizations that power much of Greater Boston's startup ecosystem.

While many founders have heard names like MassChallenge or Techstars, fewer realize just how many specialized programs exist depending on industry, stage, and founder needs.

Here's a look at the organizations that joined us:

For Life Science & Healthcare Founders

Massachusetts continues to be one of the strongest life science ecosystems in the world, and several organizations at the event are dedicated to helping scientific founders move from research to commercialization.

ABI-LABS provides fully equipped private laboratory space and office facilities for life science startups, helping founders get research underway without the burden of building laboratory infrastructure from scratch.

BioInc supports early-stage biotech and therapeutics companies through laboratory space, mentorship, business services, and connections to industry experts and investors.

C2I Accelerator offers chemistry-focused laboratory facilities and collaborative resources for founders working on proof-of-concept research and product development.

Big Tree Startup Academy helps healthcare and life science founders better understand fundraising, investor expectations, capital strategy, and growth planning within highly regulated industries.

For Climate Tech, Urban Tech & Sustainability Startups

As climate innovation continues to accelerate, founders had the opportunity to meet organizations focused specifically on supporting technologies that address environmental and infrastructure challenges.

Greentown Labs, the largest climatetech incubator in North America, provides entrepreneurs with workspace, prototyping resources, industry partnerships, and a powerful network of fellow climate innovators.

AcceliCITY, powered by Leading Cities, helps climate tech, urban tech, and govtech startups connect with municipalities, pilot opportunities, and public-sector leaders looking to adopt innovative solutions.

For AI, Robotics & Emerging Technologies

Boston's reputation as a deep-tech hub was well represented.

MassRobotics supports robotics and Physical AI startups through workspace, testing facilities, programming, and connections to industry leaders.

The Open Accelerator, a collaboration between the Massachusetts AI Hub, Red Hat, and IBM Ventures, helps AI founders access mentorship, enterprise expertise, and community support as they build next-generation AI solutions.

QUBIC Labs is building a hub for blockchain and Web3 innovation, helping founders navigate commercialization, partnerships, and growth in emerging technology markets.

For Built World & Construction Technology Founders

Innovation in construction and infrastructure often requires deep industry expertise and customer access.

BOOST by Suffolk Technologies helps built world startups gain exposure to construction leaders, real-world operating environments, investors, and strategic mentors focused on transforming how buildings are designed, constructed, and managed.

For Underrepresented & Community-Based Entrepreneurs

Several organizations focus specifically on expanding access to entrepreneurship and ensuring founders from all backgrounds can access resources and opportunities.

EforAll provides immersive accelerator programming, mentorship, and support networks designed to help underrepresented entrepreneurs start and grow businesses.

CIC Social Impact Cohort supports founders from historically underserved communities through mentorship, education, and business development programming designed to accelerate growth.

For Founders Seeking Mentorship, Networks & Fundraising Support

Many founders attending the event weren't necessarily looking for lab space or industry-specific resources. They were looking for guidance, connections, and pathways to growth.

MassChallenge continues to be one of the world's most recognized startup accelerators, helping founders connect with mentors, corporate partners, and growth opportunities across industries.

Techstars provides founders with intensive mentorship-driven accelerator programs, investment, and access to a global network of entrepreneurs, operators, and investors.

TiE Boston ScaleUp leverages TiE's global network to connect founders with experienced entrepreneurs, investors, educational programming, and strategic mentorship.

Prepare 4 VC focuses on helping founders navigate fundraising by connecting them with investors, educational resources, pitch opportunities, and a supportive founder community.

Mass Innovation Network supports startups through free mentorship and programming designed to help companies survive and thrive during the critical commercialization phase often referred to as the "valley of death."

For Founders Looking to Scale Globally

Building a startup today often means thinking beyond local markets from day one.

Start2 Group helps startups connect with corporations, governments, and investors worldwide while supporting international expansion and fundraising efforts across multiple continents.

Building a More Connected Startup Community

At Startup Boston, we often talk about being the front door to the startup ecosystem. But that only works when there are incredible organizations behind that door.

Events like this remind us just how many people and programs are working every day to support entrepreneurship across the region.

Whether you're building a climate tech company, launching a robotics startup, developing a biotech breakthrough, exploring AI, or simply trying to figure out if entrepreneurship is right for you, there are resources available and people willing to help.

We're grateful to every organization that joined us, to the City of Boston for partnering on the event, to Foley & Lardner for hosting, and to the founders who spent the evening asking questions, making connections, and exploring what's possible.
